Statue Of Pride

In past few days there is a Maya of Mayawati going on in all the news paper. Its about the fight of honor or I can say in filmy language "Pride and Prejudice". All over the world, there is a trend of erecting statues of famous personality in the public place, naming the street after them. This is one way of honoring them. This mostly happens after demise of the person. Also there are instances where statues are erected in some places which are politically motivated.


But there is an exception is going on here in UP. The so called messiah of Dalit Ms. Mayawati already spent 2600 crore rupees to honor herself and other so called messiah Mr.Kansiram. UP is one of the most underdeveloped state in india with lot of corruption, population and this year the situation is even worst by drought like situation. But instead of spending money in developmental work, the money is wasted in erecting statues. There is already statement given by other political parties that they are going to topple all the staues once the government changes. This means waste of 2600 crore rupees plus some more crore to topple it. There is also comparision of Mayawati with Saddam Hussein as he was the only leader who erected his statue when he was alive.
Thanks to interference of Supreme Court which strictly blasted the government to stop work immediately. But the problem is, already money is wasted which could have been used in developmental work of the state and the tax payer has to rub their head silently. There is no accountability for it. It is like a scam in other words where someone is spending public money to advertise herself but no punishment is there for the person. There is political motivation to market herself in coming future election by such silly childish act.

These are the leader of our country who are busy in wasting public money like this and the sad part is public vote and elect them. In my view such acts should be considered as scams and the guilty should be reprimanded.
